It's Late September and I Really Should Be Back At School

You Stole My Soul and That's a Pain I Can Do Without...

Most of the year, this song bugs me.

But for a week or two after Labor Day every year, I'll hear this song... and be struck by the sense of melancholy and loss. And the painful realization the poor sap in this song would do it all again...

I am so with you on this. It's late September and, oh shit, I do not know what I am doing with my life but this chick is, oh wait, where am I, did I intend to become a footballer or shall I pursue this music thing and, oh no, maybe...

I go through it every fall. Still haven't come up with a credible conclusion.

The every picture tells a story doanit band was a great band. When I was in 10th grade & this song was on the charts, my girlfriend at some point said she would still like this here song when she was old. Although i liked it too I couldn't imagine being old or liking the same song when i was an old man. Ha! I don't know about her nowadays, but for me, hearing it today just knocks the cobwebs right off the old tubes in my slowly shriveling brain -- Maggie Mae still sounds great to me.
