Song for the Internets

And my lovely DSL provider.

It wouldn't bother me so much that their tech support is never helpful if they'd only stop reading their infernal scripts that talk endlessly about offering "excellent service."

And when they tell me there's no direct line to US-based Tech Support... well, that's just a lie.

Don't get me wrong, there's plenty of incompetent techs in the US, but no one from my ISP's outsourced tech support islands in the Phillipines or India has ever solved any problem I've had. Literally, they keep you running around in circles for 20-30 hours until you insist on escalating the issue to the US-based techs... and at least then there's a chance.

A flat-out great song i haven't heard in ... TEN years? Is that even POSSIBLE?

"Well that's just a lie" -- yep, they aint nuthin but a hound dog.

My heart goes out to you & man I can totally relate -- as can Todd, obviously. Hang tough. It's a jungle out there, but as Todd says, the worst thing is the thought of the wasted minutes that we'll never get back from these guys who are forced maybe at the point of a gun to read from those dang scripts all day long with no room for common sense or the human touch. :-(

Thanks, Mr. Who.

The most frustrating thing is that I know the 4 or 5 things to do that will solve 90% of the problems... so if those don't work, the last thing I need is people who literally want to spend hours going through those things I've already done in slow motion instead of doing something that helps.
