It's All Right...

George Harrison died 9 years ago

RIP doesn't seem right for George Harrison.

But any use of the word "Transmogrify" would seem pretentious...

So here he is with Pete Ham from Badfinger at the Concert for Bangladesh:

I miss both those guys! Pete went out WAY too early. At least with George, it doesn't really feel like he's gone, as for me he was always more of a spiritual presence anyway...

I remember when I bought the "Living In The Material World" CD and listened to the title track, in which George lyrically discusses how much he looks forward to getting out of this material world.

Never before or since have I heard a 30-year-old man, with seemingly everything to live for in the world, talk about how much he looked forward to death.
("I hope to get out of this place / through the Lord Krishna's grace.")

That was probably when I grokked that this George Harrison guy was a much more complex character than I had imagined.
